Istanbul Transportation Map With Places of Interest

This Istanbul transportation map is drawn for tourists. To avoid confusion, it doesn’t show every line in Istanbul, only the ones useful to visitors: the most important metro, tram, funicular and cable car line, plus the Marmaray rail line that runs under the Bosphorus.
And to make finding your way even easier, I put the most common places of interest on the map as well, so you know exactly which line and stop to take to reach a given sight. For a closer look, use the “Full size” button above the map, or swipe sideways on a phone.

Stations tourists rarely need are summarised as “N stops”. Interchanges are marked; a ferry pier means a public ferry leaves nearby.

M1A · Yenikapı – Atatürk Havalimanı (metro)

Still runs to Atatürk Havalimanı station, but Atatürk Airport closed to passenger flights in 2019. For flights use M11 (IST) or M4 (SAW).

  • Şişhane ↔ Tünel: Official M2 ↔ F2 transfer (metro.istanbul, M2 page).
  • Taksim ↔ Tünel: 1.4 km pedestrian street; walk it or ride the T2 heritage tram.

Airports

  • Istanbul Airport (IST): M11 to Gayrettepe (M2) or Halkalı (Marmaray).
  • Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW): M4 to Kadıköy, or change to Marmaray at Ayrılık Çeşmesi.
  • Atatürk Airport — closed to passenger flights: Passenger flights moved to Istanbul Airport in April 2019. The M1A station keeps the name.

Off the rail network

  • Ortaköy & Bebek: bus along the Bosphorus shore from Kabataş.
  • Miniatürk: Golden Horn ferry or bus.
